Winning finish too !!....

Apologies for lack of communication through season, but this blogger was busy ! Anyway, cricket season has gone well, with LSVCC securing wins in all games apart from one. Junior section has also thrived under guidance of Nick Cain and Kevin Blair. Jason Newell organised a highly successful end of season fundraiser together with Kimbolton Rotary Club, so LSVCC in healthy shape for next season in 2015. AGM will be held towards end of year, so notice will be sent a few weeks prior. I promise to be more communicative next season !!

Bitter Memories....

I must apologise profusely to Glenn in Australia who continues to donate generously as our overseas player....as usual he sent a very nice card and donation....and to which I did not formally respond.  I can only say that time is healing the wounds after the test series, and I can now resume communication.

I think they say in australia, Fair Dinkum !!

Look forward to seeing you here Glenn, it would be a pleasure to meet again.

New Season Approaches......!!

Hopefully people and pitches now drying out ! A new season approaches for LSVCC and the old competitive instincts are stirring again. A couple of changes over the winter see Clive Burchett take over as Chairman, while Adrian Thrasher becomes President. Other reprobates continue as before....

Two special thankyous...

First to out-going President Bernard Hopperton who has supported the (new) club since its inception in terms of fixtures, hard graft on the wicket, and even one appearance ! I'll ask Bernard to maybe write a blog about the village team in the dark days before colour TV and a decent roller !

Second to Nick Cain, who has very generously offered to run the junior section again this year....the chance for our local children to play cricket on their own playing field is an incredibly valuable one, and enhances the value of these facilities to the village and surrounding communities hugely. There are many challenges in taking charge of such a young and diverse age group, so anyone interested in helping out pplease let him/us know !!

Finally, many congratutaions to Katy and Ollie on the birth of their first child, brilliant news.
